Over the years, George has become an accomplished performer in a variety of media. While he loves performing onstage for live audiences, he is also comfortable performing in front of a camera or in a recording studio. His on camera work includes storytelling performances videotaped for local cable television stations, for storytelling slams sponsored by Massmouth (here and here), and for reading aloud presentations featured on The Children’s Room, a nationally broadcast and award-winning children’s TV show. As one of the show’s co-hosts, George created imaginative introductions for children’s books, which he then read aloud, drawing upon his storytelling skills to bring the books to life.
George’s background in both theater and storytelling has contributed to his success as a voice over artist. He has recorded a number of children’s books-on-tape and CD for leading educational publishers. Many of George’s recordings are available through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and at local libraries. A short list includes Cecily G and the 9 Monkeys (The First Book about Curious George), by H.A Rey; Curious George gets a medal, by H.A. Rey; The Giant Jam Sandwich, by John Vernon Lord; Friday Night at Hodge’s Cafe, by Tim Egan; and Waiting-for-Christmas Stories, by Bethany Roberts. Audio clips from a few of these books are included below the following video clips.
